Are your wilderness medicine protocols on the tip of your tongue or in the bottom of your pack? This three day scenario-based course is designed as review and practice of evacuation and decision making guidelines. It also provides wilderness medicine practitioners with current updates in the wilderness medicine field.
Crested Butte is a perfect place to take a Wilderness Medicine course, with the rugged and remote Elk Mountains right outside of town, and plenty of easily accessible lodging, classroom facilities, and eateries all within walking distance in town.
Longtime WMI of NOLS Instructors Jayson Simons-Jones & Billy Rankin, both live, work, and play in the Crested Butte area as ski patrollers, mountain guides, avalanche forecasters, and river guides and can offer an exceptional course format tailored to the environment and clientele of a WFR-Recert course in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

This course is offered in the standard 3 day format, from 8-5, for a total of 24hrs., and includes WMI Adult Heartsaver CPR.
This course may be used to recertify Wilderness First Responder and Wilderness EMT (wilderness portion only) certifications. You must possess a valid WFR certification of at least 72 hours in order to recertify through this course. Upon successful course completion you will earn a wilderness medicine certification from WMI of NOLS. This course may also be used to recertify WAFA certifications.
There will be a written examination at the beginning and end of this course.
Course costs do not include lodging or food.
