Come ski the famous Haute Route with us! A "must-do' for any serious backcountry skier, this route spans from Chamonix, France to Zermatt, Switzerland in 8 days you'll never forget. The classic Haute Route is one of the best backcountry skiing experiences in the world for skiers with some expertise and physical fitness. Staying in beautiful mountain huts perched high in the Alps along the way, each day offers great skiing over astonishingly beautiful glaciers. With the luxury of mountain huts skiers are able to travel relatively light with a only a typical backcountry day pack. Starting in Chamonix, a ski mountaineer's Mecca, our trip will cross through terrain housing some of the great mountains (Mt Blanc, the Matterhorn) into Switzerland finishing in Zermatt. Spring conditions often create a thick layer of clouds that linger in the valleys as the skiers traverse high above, creating the illusion that you are traveling through another world. The huts offer an amazing array of European food, most notably their delicious cheeses, artisan breads and of course, the chocolate. The hardest part of the trip for most is descending down into the valley at the end; life is just too good in the high mountains. Undeniably, it's a week you'll remember always. Deposit & Payment schedule: In order to secure your place in a program, tour, expedition, a deposit of 50% of the total fees is due at the time of registration. We cannot hold your place without this deposit. The balance is due 60 days prior to the starting day of the tour, program or expedition. For registration after the balance due date, full payment is due at the time of registration. If payment is not received by the due date and other arrangements are not made with us, we reserve the right to consider your registration canceled.
Cancellation & refund policy: If you cancel your enrollment for any reason, the following policy applies:
Cancellation occurring after the balance due date will result in a complete forfeiture of all payment and deposit. The only exception to this occurs when we have somebody waiting to take your place, in which case we will refund all payment and deposit less a cancellation fee of $ 200. If you cancel your enrollment before the balance due date you will receive a refund of all payment and deposit less a cancellation fee of $ 200. If we cancel a trip due to inadequate registration you will receive a full refund of all payment and your deposit. With the exception of our trip fees, we are not responsible for other expenses you might incur (such as nonrefundable airline tickets or other travel and work arrangements) in the event that we cancel a trip.
Trip cancellation, interruption & Emergency Evacuation Insurance: In order to protect yourself from the loss of nonrefundable fees we strongly recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance. This type of insurance will allow you to recover fees resulting from cancellation due to personal or family illness occurring before or during the tour, program or expedition. Most type of trip insurance also allows recovering nonrefundable travel expenses in the event that we are to cancel due to inadequate registration. Emergency evacuation insurance, often included with trip cancellation, covers the normally very high cost of evacuation from remote mountainous areas. We strongly recommend that participants contact such insurance; they are available through your insurance or travel agent or check our website links: www.Worldtravelcenter.com // www.medjetassistance.com
